Environment:
The HDi engines
Citroën has developed a range of high-performance solutions in recent years, as part of its global environmental protection strategy.
These solutions include a range of low-pollution engines with the HDi (direct-injection diesel) engines.
HDi engines are now a reference in their category. Their intrinsic qualities reduce fuel consumption and bring a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions.
The use of Common Rail technology explains these excellent performance levels.
A single rail supplies the four injectors with fuel at a pressure of up to 1,350 bars.
An electronic control system optimises the fuel/air mixture in all conditions of use.
With vehicles fitted with a particulate filter it is vitally important that no fuel or oil additives are used.
